Alternate Quality Assurance Person (AQAP)

We're looking for an Alternate Quality Assurance Person (AQAP) to work alongside our onsite QAP, keep our quality systems tight and make sure every lot is ready for the shelf. • Pay: $75,000+/year, based on experience

• Serve as the designated Alternate QAP on our processing licence under the Cannabis Regulations
• Work side by side with our QAP and step in as QAP whenever they are away
• Be the go-to person on the production floor for anything quality

• Lot release: review batch records, CoAs and test results so cannabis is quality-assured before it is made available for sale
• Pre-roll quality checks: fill weight, roll and cone quality, terpene-infusion consistency, packaging integrity and moisture
• Labels and packaging: check every SKU against Part 7 of the Cannabis Regulations
• Investigations: dig into complaints, deviations and out-of-spec results, find the root cause and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
• Quality systems: write and update SOPs and keep our GPP, sanitation, pest control and equipment calibration programs running smoothly
• Training: train production staff on SOPs and GPP and keep training records current
• Inspection ready: help prepare for Health Canada inspections and internal and vendor audits
• Recalls and reporting: support recall, adverse reaction and other required reporting
• Trend spotting: review production and quality data and recommend improvements

• Are of legal cannabis age (19+ in Saskatchewan). No exceptions.
• Have a science degree or diploma (chemistry, biology, food science or related)
• Bring 2+ years of quality assurance experience in cannabis, food, natural health products or pharma
• Know your way around the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations, especially Parts 5, 6 and 7
• Can pass a background check and obtain a Health Canada security clearance
• Meet Health Canada requirements to be approved as an AQAP
• Have a reliable vehicle to get to our Regina facility (this is an onsite role)
• Are detail-obsessed, organized and a clear writer who can explain quality to anyone

• Pre-roll, processing or packaging line experience
• HACCP, GMP or Preventive Control Plan (PCP) training
• Experience supporting Health Canada inspections or third-party audits
• Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets and electronic quality systems

• $75,000+/year, based on experience
